As a response to the Pope’s call to dialogue, the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights, established at Faculty of Bioethics of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum and Faculty of Law of Università Europea di Roma, organised a two-day workshop to study the document in light of other different traditions, including Islam, Judaism, Greek Orthodoxy, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Hinduism.
2022

8th International Bioethics, Multiculturalism and Religion Workshop Protecting the Environment, the Biosphere and Biodiversity took place in Bangkok, Thailand.
It was the first workshop since the hiatus caused by the pandemic, consequently, it was held both in person and virtually via Zoom. The workshop was organised by the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights in collaboration with the Chulalongkorn University.
Due to a change in methodology in this workshop, each academic had 15 minutes to present their paper, followed by a response by a scholar from a different tradition. Each exchange concluded with a 45-minute question and answer session from the audience.

Convergence and cooperation in the field of these crucial issues related to environmental protection was the focus of the Workshop's papers, discussions and lectures. All papers resulting from the Workshop will be collected in a publication.
"Today more than ever, dialogue helps encounter and encounter helps friendship and friendship already contains the seed of peace. For me the most beautiful experience of these meetings is to see the involvement of about forty experts from different cultures and the friendship that is created through these meetings; also, to see that in some issues where the visions of bioethics are very different one can dialogue, one can change minds, and spaces can be created where there is respect for the other. The protection of the environment 'the common home' (citing Pope Francis) is not only a concern of the Church of Catholics but also a worldwide concern." Prof. Alberto García Gómez, Dean of the Faculty of Bioethics and Chair-holder of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights.
