SCHOLARSHIPS & THE COURSES ON OFFER

What are scholarships?
In a nutshell, non-repayable cash awards that are paid to the qualifying student, or as a discount on their tuition fees.
We offer a number of scholarships for eligible students. They’re awarded for a variety of reasons including academic achievement and/or to help those on lower incomes. All scholarships awarded to students will cover an amount of up to 50% of the contribution due for academic fees.

LEGACY BUILDING SCHOLARSHIPS:

Scholarships are tools at the service of the mission of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum (APRA). Every year APRA welcomes more than 1,200 students: talented young men and women eager to build their knowledge, strengthen their spiritual life and prepare to be leaders in contemporary society.

UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights

This UNESCO Chair in collaboration with the Faculty of Bioethics of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome and the European University of Rome, has the mission of analysing and improving the understanding of bioethical issues in relation to human rights. The activities of the Institute (teaching, scientific research, anddissemination of its line of thought) are founded on a humanist model of bioethics of Christian inspiration.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) signed an agreement with the APRA and the European University of Rome to create a UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and Human Rights. The Chair, which makes part of the Institute of Bioethics and Human Rights, promotes the exchange of ideas and the sharing of experiences through a dialogue with higher-education institutions in various countries, especially developing ones.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors we have consistently supported this post over the past several years and provided funding for the inter-religious dialogue on bioethical themes.

JF Publishing

JF Publishing was founded in 2002 by Joan Foo Mahony, lawyer, author and philanthropist.

Joan’s boundless generosity has enabled 100% of the proceeds from a selection of her books to directly benefit the mission of the Regina Apostolorum Foundation.

We are deeply grateful to Joan for her generosity and enthusiasm in participating in our mission, both through her books as well as through her financial support.

In 2000, Joan retired from her more than three-decades-long international legal career in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong to focus on writing, editing, publishing, and philanthropy. She founded JF Publishing and Cross Time Matrix in 2003. Since then Joan has published beautiful and elegant books on historical fiction, wellness, art, sailing, cooking, and gardens and architecture.

Art Exhibitions

Thanks to the creativity of Father Joseph Tham’s tremendous skill and grace with Chinese brush painting, calligraphy and seal carving to describe the essence of his subject matter – the glory and the mystery of God, the Regina Apostolorum Foundation Hong Kong has benefitted generously from the proceeds from his recent exhibitions.

All funds raised have helped significantly  grow our mission and our Endowment Fund.
